Consultation Service for Support of Ukrainian Evacuees Established  

 

In order to help evacuees from Ukraine to stay in Saitama Prefecture with peace of mind, Saitama Information & Support provides consultation service for daily life in Ucrainian, Russian. 

 

 The consultation covers general living issues such as housing, employment, etc. Specialized consultations on immigration, legal, and welfare issues are also available.  

 

 The service is available in Ukrainian, Russian, English, easy Japanese, and other languages. For consultations in Ukrainian, an appointment is required.

Saitama Information & Support (SIS)

 

Consultations and information are available in 13 languages

 

Consultations are offered on everyday living, as well as labor, immigration and legal matters.

 

Basically upon request from municipality (prefectural/city/town office), hospitals and public institutions in the prefecture, we provide intermediary interpretation services between office staff and foreign residents over the phone.

Consultations by specialists

For in-person counseling, reservation is required.

∗Under certain circumstances, we might not be able to arrange interpreters for consultations by specialists.

∗To prevent the spread of new coronavirus infection, in person consultations will be canceled for the time being. If you have any inquiry, please contact by telephone.

 

For labor matters

  • Obtaining information such as working career, skills, and Japanese literacy, we provide advice for getting a job along with the employment situation in the prefecture.
  • Consultation about unpaid wages, sudden dismissal and/or the procedure to receive unemployment insurance benefits.
  • You can talk to a certified social insurance and labor consultant (SIA is tied up with the Association of Certified Social Insurance and Labor Consultants in Saitama).
  • Consultation is held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.

 

For immigration matters

  • Consultation for immigration procedures legally required for foreign residents to stay in Japan.
  • You can talk to an authorized adviser on immigration procedures assigned by Tokyo Regional Immigration Bureau, Ministry of Justice.
  • Consultation is held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

 

For legal matters

  • Legal consultation covering a wide range of issues in your life
  • You can talk to a lawyer (SIA is tied up with Saitama Bar Association) on the 4th Thursday of every month.
  • Upon your request, we can make an appointment for your legal consultation held at Saitama Bar Association on Wednesdays and Fridays.
